hi friends!
For quite some time I have found myself struggling to find a way to live my life in a way that is sustainable for me. With phases of depression and anxiety, I would often fluctuate between highs and lows. Each time I hit a low, feeling as though I needed to start over and completely revamp myself, my life, and my habits to somehow create a different outcome. What I have learned is that self-care with bubble baths and retail therapy can only do so much, a real change has to come from a more holistic approach.
To create a sense of self within that can be sustained through time, challenges, and day-to-day life you must first fully meet yourself where you’re at. Get to know who you are outside of the box that you would like to fit into.
The goal is not to change the self but to work harmoniously with it. Finding ways to intentionally care for, comfort, and nourish who you are in your specific needs rather than reject yourself and create a “new you”.
Only then, can we create a self-sustained.
What fills my cup?
- spending my last dime on flights to travel & experience the world
- reading a book about self-help, mindfulness, or spirituality
- connecting with nature through hiking, beach days, gardening, sunset hunting, & star gazing
- exploring my creative side with painting, drawing, ceramics, photography, or writing
- searching for countless ambitious recipes on Pinterest (most of which I will never actually make)
